France, after Belgium in the EU and other entities globally such as California, has now banned the use of the marketing term ‘biodegradable’ for plastics.

BBIA has written to DEFRA many times to put into place legislation which stops the unqualified use of ‘biodegradable’ as a marketing sales pitch for plastics and applauds the French decision.
