BBIA and several members joined the WRAP and DEFRA workshop in Birmingham on 16 June to discuss the market potential and challenges for the supplies of waste containers/bin/liners once the long-awaited reforms take effect in 2024.

WRAP estimate that England will need some 17 million food waste caddies, some six million wheelie bins and (if they are mandated) two billion caddy liners a year. Supply chain, labour and energy issues are of great concern to all suppliers.
