BIORENEWABLES DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
BIORENEWABLES DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is an open-access research, development and demonstration biorefining centre and a subsidiary of the University of York. They apply technologies derived from both biology and chemistry to optimise and process biorenewable raw materials for the production of chemicals, materials and fuels.

BIOTEC
BIOTEC is a leading company that develops and produces sustainable bioplastics made from plant-based renewable resources. The film and rigid application range stretches from refuse and shopper bags to pharmaceutical capsules, including food industry blisters, cosmetics packaging and many other requests from our clients. BIOTEC produces and sells a new generation of customized thermoplastic materials with various functional properties under the brand name BIOPLAST. All products made from BIOPLAST grades are 100% biodegradable.

BRISTOL COMPOSITES INSTITUTE
BRISTOL COMPOSITES INSTITUTE is the UK’s largest composites-focused university research group with 200+ members. Part of the University of Bristol, the Institute has a focus on collaboration between academia and industry. Wide ranging research covers many aspects of composite materials, structures and manufacturing, from nano to metre scale, through physical, chemical and digital investigations and innovations. Academic expertise, combined with extensive industrial collaborations, provides a unique knowledge base for the composites sector, alongside invaluable contributions to the pipeline of skills through four postgraduate programmes.

C3 Biotech
C3 Biotech is pioneering a new era in sustainable industrial chemistry, delivering biologically derived commodity chemicals and fuels that can finally compete, on price and performance, with fossil-based incumbents. At the core of our innovation is a breakthrough fermentation platform. By eliminating the need for costly sterile conditions, we slash both CAPEX and OPEX, unlocking biomanufacturing at a scale and cost point that radically shifts what’s possible for biological production. We enable industrial-scale manufacturing of fuels and chemicals that not only reduce emissions but also work seamlessly with existing infrastructure and global supply chains.

Carbon Cell
Carbon Cell is on a mission to make polystyrene trash a thing of the past, with a patent pending, non-toxic, compostable foam material made from carbon-negative biochar and natural binders. With applications in packaging, the built environment, and marine foams, Carbon Cell can help brands and manufacturers take concrete action on their climate goals and create a more positive future for us all.

Celtic Renewables
Celtic Renewables‘ mission is to establish a world where thousands of everyday items like cosmetics, paints, and cleaning products are made without fossil fuels. By pioneering a unique and circular solution that converts by-products and waste from a wide range of industries such as food, drink, and agriculture into green chemicals. This revolutionary approach defossilises chemical production, adds value to industrial by-products and waste, and reduces the carbon footprint of products we use in our daily lives. Contributing to the transition to a Net Zero, nature positive world.

CENTRAL PLAINS GROUP
CENTRAL PLAINS GROUP promote and facilitate regenerative farming practices and high quality potato starch based polymers that contribute as much to a healthy ecosystem as they do to nourishing populations. Since 2019, we’ve been working successfully in some of the most productive, low-cost farming regions in the world to develop a vertically integrated agricultural and biopolymer refinery business. Our purpose? To develop a low-carbon, zero-waste, circular bioeconomy that nurtures people, plants and planet.

CHEMIAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED
CHEMIAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED was founded in 1996 as a freelance Business Development service, helping companies develop new technologies, product ranges or introducing production projects. We launched our Citrepel (naturally derived insect repellent active) in the late 2000’s. Our initial hurdle was proving that a natural material could perform as well as a synthetic. Today that is firmly established. Since then, we developed/patented a second-generation version (our Citrepel 75) and we now sell everywhere there are mosquitoes.

CHESNUT BIOPOLYMERS
CHESNUT BIOPOLYMERS formulate existing biopolymers already produced at scale to provide a compounded product that is both bio-sourced and bio-degradable. Formulated to meet existing customer requirements in existing applications to ensure functionality for the duration of the product lifetime is not compromised and then at the end of life will degrade back into biomass, CO2 and water. Our material has already been proven to be a drop-in solution into existing manufacturing processes.

Clean Food Group
At Clean Food Group we’re building the go-to sustainable oils and fats solutions provider to the world’s food and cosmetics manufacturers; delivering scalable, healthier, competitively-priced functional oils and fats that have a positive impact on the economic, environmental and social health of the planet.
