BBIA is looking to hire an individual to help undertake tasks related to an EU-funded project known as Usable Packaging.

The project, which begins in June 2019 and ends in June 2022, will investigate and research the possibility of obtaining novel products and chemicals from bio-based waste resources originating in the food industry, including those making pasta, wine and bakery products.

BBIA has specific leadership responsibilities for two tasks under Work Package 5 (WP5) and Work Package 6 (WP6), including creating and leading a Stakeholder Platform to engage specialised audiences in the work of the project and a Product Application Portfolio to allow stakeholders to understand what products can be made from newly developed materials, as well as producing communications materials for the project.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of chemical or biological processes, the packaging and plastics industry, the food industry, an understanding of waste management and trends in EU legislation. A good and proven ability to communicate and to create and organise a dissemination plan is essential.

The ideal candidate will have perfect written and spoken English and have a professional proficiency in more than one other major European languages.

The role will include travel to Europe every few months for partner meetings and stakeholder meetings.

The role is part-time and flexible working will be required.
