Innovation Fund Project Call  

Scope – Scottish academic/industrial partnerships. Large pieces of innovative R&D work.
Eligibility – Academic/industrial collaboration
Funding amount – Up to £100,000
Closing dates – 03/04/2020

IBioIC Feasibility Programme April 2020 

Scope – Scottish academic- industrial partnerships. Proof of concept projects.
Eligibility – Academic/industrial collaboration
Funding Amount – Up to £15,000
Closing Dates – 03/04/2020

Algae UK Proof of Concept Call 

Scope – UK projects delivering bio-polymers and natural pigments, dyes and inks from algae.
Eligibility – Academic (Industrial collaboration recommended)
Funding amount – Up to £40,000
Closing dates – 28/02/2020

Scale-Up Accelerator 2019 

Scope – Projects must be led by an SME and demonstrate a clear economic, societal or reputational benefit to Scotland.
Eligibility – Industry for use of IBioIC facilities
Funding amount – Up to £12,500
Closing dates – Ongoing

Zero Waste Scotland – Bioeconomy Opportunities for Fish By-products and Mortalities 

Scope – Projects led by an SME supported by Scotland’s academic talent or SMEs alone to progress innovative projects themselves.
Eligibility – SME can include Academia
Funding amount – £50,000 – £1 Million
Closing dates – 24/04/2020

For joint industrial/academic collaborations, funding is available to support costs incurred by academic partners to be matched by cash/in-kind contributions from industry.

Project proposals aligning to Scotland’s National Plan for Industrial Biotechnology are welcomed from companies demonstrating a strong presence in Scotland.
