The European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Bioeconomy (EFIB) has launched EFIB PitchFest 2016 – a programme of investor-ready support for innovative SMEs seeking an opportunity to secure a minimum €1 million (£770k) investment for their business.

The programme is open to ambitious and innovative SMEs that are committed to the bioeconomy agenda and seeking a potential investment of a minimum of €1 million.

After the application deadline of Monday 20 June, all applicants will be taken through a programme of pitch training by their regional agency, as well as investment, pitch and business mentoring.

One SME from each region will then be selected to pitch to a judging panel of investors in a specially formatted session during the EFIB conference on 18-20 October in Glasgow.

Those selected to pitch at the conference will also receive a free two-day pass and the opportunity to gain exposure with 700 business leaders and investors from around the world.

In the UK the programme is being supported by the Knowledge Transfer Network, and for more information companies should contact Hayley Hopkins at hayley.hopkins@ktn-uk.org, 07964 554321.

Information and application forms can be found on the EFIB website.
