Biotechnology start-ups or projects are being sought to apply for the Young Biotech Award 2016.

Leading French biocluster Genopole has launched the award for the sixth time this week and has for the first time opened it to international projects and start-ups. Applicants will be vying for a prize worth €100,000.

The prize includes a €30,000 grant from Genopole’s primary partner Chimex and the Caisse d’Epargne, access to the biocluster’s cutting-edge technological platforms, six months’ free acommodation, a market study, development packs, intellectual property counselling, human resources services and more.

Depending on the quality of applications, Genopole may also award an extra two runner-up prizes worth €50,000.

Application packs can be found on the Genopole website.

Applicants have until 3 October to submit their dossiers.

An initial selection of candidates will be made in mid-November and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 13 December.
