BBIA was quoted in the BBC radio programme ‘Sliced Bread’ (which you can listen to here) talking about dog poo bags. Whilst the use of home compostable dog poo bags can be useful if effectively home composted (as one speaker does and recommends), we made the point that dog poo should not be sent to industrial composting plants – they cannot accept them. So the use of industrial compostable bags makes little sense. The other interesting quote is that the use of the generic claim ‘biodegradable’ used often on dog poo bags, is highly misleading – a point we have made many times to DEFRA.
