TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has returned to the BBC this week to continue his ‘War on Waste’. After two episodes in November 2015 highlighted the amount of food waste caused by supermarket cosmetic standards and households, the chef has this time turned to packaging, highlighting in particular the amount of waste caused by disposable paper cups commonly used for coffee and the over-packaging of certain products.

BBIA member Vegware has been working with Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage to provide a sustainable solution to disposable catering products by using food and drinks containers that can be thrown away with food waste and used to create compost.

The video below shows how it is all done.
