The Usable Packaging project was launched in June 2019 with the aim to reduce the use of environmentally harmful fossil-fuel-based packaging through the development of appropriate bio-alternatives. The project is aimed at the food, drink, pharmaceutical and clothing industries.
The project was worked on by over 25 partners representing businesses, universities, research centres, trade associations and other organisations from around Europe. It was led by Spain’s Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC).
