Registration is open for the joint CBMNet and BIOCATNET workshop of Import and Export of Small Molecules for Biocatalysis to be held 12-13 September 2017 at The Caledonian Hotel in Edinburgh.
Biochemists and microbiologists have long seen whole-cell biocatalysis as an area with great promise for chemical synthesis, for instance to address co-factor recycling or to enable construction of non-natural biosynthetic cascades, however significant challenges occur when substrate and product cannot be easily imported and exported from the cell.
This event brings together academic scientists with diverse interests in the import and export of small molecules, alongside industrial scientists who are interested in improving the robustness of whole-cell biocatalysts.
