Cré (Composting and Anaerobic Digestion Association of Ireland), in partnership with Organics Recycling Group of the Renewable Energy Association and the BBIA has put together a bioeconomy study tour in Milan and the Veneto region of Italy to visit:

  • Food waste collections systems in Milan
  • A composting/biogas plant
  • Novamont’s headquarters and research laboratories
  • SESA’s integrated composting/AD plant

The tour will allow participants to see what leading bioeconomy pioneers in Italy are doing to develop the Italian bioeconomy sector. The study tour is designed to give an overview of the current best practices and approaches to the separate collection of food waste and recycling.

The following are covered in the costs of the study tour:

  • Flights
  • B&B accommodation (single room)
  • Evening meals
  • Lunches
  • Internal travel in Italy

The tour will take place over 13-16 October 2019. There is an option to stay for two days.

Flights leave from either Dublin Airport or Stansted Airport and return flights will depart from Milan Bergamo or Venice Treviso, depending on whether the two-day or three-day option has been chosen.

The two-day option costs €1,500 and the three-day option costs €2,000. A discount of €200 is available to those who organise their own flights.

Places are strictly limited to 25 and are offered on a first come, first served basis.
