10th International Conference on Bio-based Materials

10 – 11 May 2017, Maternushaus, Cologne, Germany

www.bio-based-conference.com

This year the conference has a special focus: Bio-based building blocks and platform chemicals. With the bioeconomy developing at pace, nova-Insitute says most of the investment is going to the industry’s core — bio-based building blocks and platform chemicals, which both show a two-digit yearly growth.

“For the conference, we were able to get the ten leading companies worldwide to Cologne – a unique opportunity to meet the pioneers in the field at one place”, says Michael Carus, Managing Director of nova-Institute. In addition the latest market data and policy trends will be presented at the conference by international experts.

The conference will also see the return of a start-up session and the ‘Bio-based Material of the Year’ award.

The start-up session supports young companies with networking and cooperation opportunities and connects them to potential partners from industry and finance. Several start-ups will show their latest development and are looking for industrial partners. Start-ups wishing to participate can still send a document presenting their product, process, used feedstock and target markets to achim.raschka@nova-institut.de and also highlight the real innovation and the benefits of the product/technology.

The ‘Bio-based Material of the Year 2017’ innovation award will be handed out for the tenth time. The advisory board will make a preselection of all applications and narrow the field down to a top six new materials and products. The final decision will be made by the conference participants after the nominees presented their innovations. Applications are still open until end of February www.bio-based-conference.com/award
